Saugus Police Investigating Serious Motor Vehicle Crash Involving Pedestrian

SAUGUS — Interim Chief Ronald Giorgetti reports the Saugus Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred tonight involving a pedestrian who was seriously injured .

At approximately 9:50 p.m., Saugus Police responded to Hamilton Street, in the area of Ella Street, on a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, police located a 37-year-old Saugus man who had been hit by a motor vehicle. He was transported via ambulance to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver, a 60-year-old man from Melrose, remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section also responded to the scene.

The incident remains under active investigation by the Saugus Police Department.
