Holbrook Police Visit JFK Elementary School

HOLBROOK — Chief William J. Smith is pleased to announce that members of the Holbrook Police Department visited students at the JFK Elementary School today.

The school held Junior Police Officer Day, and all of the members of the day shift, including Chief Smith, went to the school to visit kids in their classes.

The officers handed out sticker badges to all of the kids and each student was sworn in as a junior police officer for the day.

Officer Nate Rookard recited the oath, which the students repeated back: “I ( state your name), promise to be a good student, promote kindness in my school and my community to make it a better place to live.”

“It was great visiting all of the kids and seeing their smiling faces,” Chief Smith said. “They were all so excited and proudly put their sticker badges on their shirts. Hopefully some of these kids grow up to join the Holbrook Police Department and days like today help to encourage that.”
