Opportunities for All Students: Methuen High School Hosts Annual College and Careers Fair

METHUEN – Methuen Public Schools is pleased to share that Methuen High School has once again held a successful college and careers fair for students in Grade 12.

The College and Careers Fair, which has been held for over 10 years, created an opportunity for students to interact with over 55 colleges, businesses, military organizations, technical schools and certification programs.

During the event, students in Grade 12 were able to network and learn about local colleges and schools to better assist them in the next chapter of their lives post-graduation.

It also provided students with an opportunity to learn how their current classes are vital and necessary while pursuing their passions, whether that be through secondary education or entering the workforce. For example, if a student is interested in plumbing, the classes in geometry and physics at Methuen High School can help prepare them for the next level and create a bridge between their current classes and their future careers.

The district’s commitment to student growth does not stop there. Every school year, during Monday through Thursday’s lunch period, additional representatives from local colleges, unions and military organizations visit to continue discussions with students.

Methuen High School Counseling Department also has two field trips planned for students in the Early College Program where they will visit the University of Massachusetts Lowell, one on Oct. 26 and a second trip to be scheduled for spring 2027. Methuen High School will also hold a community college vocational fair in the spring.

“At Methuen Public Schools, we firmly believe in opportunities for all students, and by having our students participate in these programs and events, we are able to have more in-depth conversations and connect students with the right resources to further their education during their time in Methuen and after graduation,” said Methuen School Counseling Department Chair Martha Tatro.
