LUDLOW — The Ludlow Police Department arrested and charged three people in connection with an armed home invasion that left a man with a significant head injury last week.
AJAIA GLADDEN, age 25, of THREE RIVERS; JAILA WARREN, age 30, of CHICOPEE; and SHAMAL THOMAS, age 26, of SPRINGFIELD, were arrested and charged with:
- Armed Home Invasion
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
- Armed Assault in a Dwelling
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
- Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
- Leaving a Firearm in a Vehicle
- Breaking and Entering in the Daytime While Armed
On Thursday, Sept. 10, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Ludlow Police Department was called to a home on Williams Street for a report of an armed home invasion.
Officers arrived to learn that two men broke into a home on Williams Street and that one of them allegedly pistol-whipped a resident while the other allegedly punched a resident. The suspects then fled the area.
Police were able to obtain descriptions of both suspects and a description of the vehicle that they fled in. Police then used Flock Safety cameras to identify a possible suspect vehicle, which was subsequently stopped by Chicopee Police.
The motor vehicle stop conducted by Chicopee Police led to the discovery of a firearm and several other items believed to be connected to the home invasion in Ludlow.
GLADDEN, WARREN and THOMAS were taken into custody at the scene of the motor vehicle stop in Chicopee and turned over to Ludlow Police.
All three were arraigned on Friday in Springfield District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
