MARLBOROUGH — Assabet students delivered strong performances at the SkillsUSA State Conference, April 30 – May 2 in Marlboro, with a record-breaking nine gold medals being earned.
The gold medal winners advance to the National SkillsUSA Conference from June 1-6 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Nineteen students earned medals in 14 disciplines:
Gold medalists
- Maya Burke (Commercial Roofing)
- Emily Costa, Casey Knott and Julia Ferreira (Career Pathways Showcase: Natural Resources/Agriculture/Food)
- Molly Gallagher and Bianca Troiani (Audio Radio Production)
- Kieran Goodrich (Sticker Design)
- Alexander Magiannis (CNC Programmer)
- Emily Ribeiro (Job Interview)
Silver medalists
- Molly Gallagher (Pin Design)
- Daniel Gois, Gabriella Bairos and Nick Acosta (Promotional Bulletin Board)
- Helen Ramirez (Collision Damage Appraisal),
- Emma Shea (Graphic Communications)
Bronze medalists
- Eleanor Gibson and Jonathan Romm (Additive Manufacturing)
- Delaney Holt (Collision Damage Appraisal)
- Savannah Ruibal (Painting & Design Technology)
- Tamir Slater (Technical Computer Applications)
The students’ success reflects both their dedication and the strength of Assabet’s vocational programs.
The district also recognizes the advisors who supported students throughout the competition: Bruce Long, Kelly Jenkins, John Steiner and Jonathan Williams.
The SkillsUSA program is a national organization that empowers students to become advanced professionals and career-ready leaders. Assabet’s continued success at the state level highlights the strength of its vocational programs and the commitment of students and staff.
The Assabet school community looks forward to supporting the nine gold medalists as they prepare for the national conference.
