ACTON — Chief Anita Arnum reports that the Acton Fire Department responded to a fire at an apartment complex Thursday morning.
On Thursday, May 14 at 9:26 a.m., Acton Fire responded to Davis Road for reports of a fire on the third floor of the apartment complex.
Upon arrival, crews did not observe any smoke coming from the exterior of the building. Upon further investigation, firefighters located a light smoke condition in the affected apartment and attic area. A second alarm was struck to bring additional resources to the scene.
Crews opened walls and ceilings and used fire extinguishers to mitigate the situation and prevent the heat and smoke from spreading to the attic.
There were no reported injuries. The fire was contained to one unit.
Mutual aid was provided by Concord, Maynard, Littleton, Westford, Boxborough, and Chelmsford Fire Departments. Pro ALS and Bedford Fire were notified for EMS standby.
Station coverage was provided by Stow, Sudbury, and Lincoln Fire Departments.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Acton Fire and the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit attached to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
