TYNGSBOROUGH — Greater Lowell Technical High School is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $2.5 million expansion grant as part of the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s $70 million investment in career and technical education across the Commonwealth.
This funding supports efforts to expand student access to high-quality training programs aligned with high-demand industry sectors.
As the largest vocational-technical high school in Massachusetts, Greater Lowell Technical High School serves approximately 2,300 students, offering a rigorous academic curriculum alongside hands-on learning opportunities across 23 career and technical program areas.
This significant funding will support capital improvements, including shop expansion and modernization, as well as the purchase and installation of state-of-the-art equipment in one of the most sought-after CTE programs among GLTHS students:; Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration(HVAC-R).
“By expanding and modernizing this program, we are not only increasing access for more students, but also ensuring they are prepared with the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to meet workforce demands and pursue competitive careers in the HVAC-R industry,” said Superintendent-Director Jill Davis.
Through this investment, Greater Lowell Technical High School continues to build on its mission of preparing students for college, career, and citizenship while supporting the economic vitality of the region.
The school extends its sincere appreciation to Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, and state leaders for their continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality career and technical education opportunities across Massachusetts.
