NEWBURY — The Newbury Fire Department responded to and extinguished a two-alarm fire Thursday morning.
On Thursday, April 2, at approximately 7 a.m., Newbury Fire responded to Cricket Lane for reports of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, crews observed a single-family home under construction that was engulfed in flames. Firefighters immediately began an aggressive exterior attack on the fire.
A second alarm was struck to bring additional resources to the scene.
There were no injuries.
Mutual aid was provided at the scene by the Rowley, Amesbury, Groveland, Newburyport, and Georgetown Fire Departments. Rehab 5 also responded to the scene.
The Boxford Fire Department provided station coverage during the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Newbury Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit attached to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
