LUDLOW — The Ludlow Fire Department and mutual aid partners extinguished a fire in a Loopley Street home on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, Feb. 25, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Ludlow Central Dispatch received a call from a neighbor stating that there was black smoke coming from the windows of a home located at 130 Loopley St.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the front of the home.
Ludlow firefighters stretched multiple hose lines into the home to contain most of the fire damage to the home’s living room. Smoke and heat damage extended throughout most of the first floor.
Three residents were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross of Massachusetts.
Mutual aid assistance at the scene was provided by the Westover and Chicopee Fire Departments, while the Wilbraham Fire Department provided station coverage.
The Ludlow Police Department assisted with scene safety and traffic control, and Ludlow Central Dispatch provided communications and logistical support throughout the incident.
The fire is believed to be accidental and remains under investigation by the Ludlow Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
