Police Respond to Threat at Bagnall Elementary School, Determine Threat Unfounded

WEST NEWBURY — Superintendent Dr. Justin Bartholomew and Principal Jennifer Barreto report that a bomb threat was called in to Bagnall Elementary School on Monday morning.

Bagnall administrators arrived at school on Monday, Dec. 22, and found a voicemail containing a nonspecific bomb threat. The incident was immediately reported to police.

Groveland Police and mutual aid partners are actively investigating the incident and have determined that there is no threat to the school or community.

The threat was discovered before students’ arrival. In accordance with the District’s procedure, buses were rerouted to a secondary location, where students were able to wait inside.

The school day is resuming, and students are being transported back to Bagnall.

“We understand that this incident may have been troubling for our students and families. We would like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation in allowing us to execute our procedures, which were put into place with the safety of our students in mind,” said Superintendent Bartholomew. “We would also like to thank Groveland Police and other responders for their quick investigation into this incident.”
