North Hampton Firefighters Extinguish Vehicle Fire That Spread to Home on Juniper Road

NORTH HAMPTON — Interim Chief Jacob MacGlashing reports that North Hampton Fire & Rescue extinguished a fire that started with a vehicle but then spread to a house on Saturday.

On Saturday, Nov. 8, at approximately 4:56 p.m., the C Shift at North Hampton Fire was dispatched to a home at 8 Juniper Road for a reported vehicle fire in the driveway that extended into the garage.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a pickup truck in flames next to the home, with heavy fire extending into the garage and up to the second floor of the residence.

Firefighters quickly deployed two hose lines and worked to bring the fire under control. The fire was contained to the pickup truck and the garage, the exterior of the home and a portion of the attic above the garage.

All occupants were able to safely evacuate prior to firefighters’ arrival.

Mutual aid companies from Hampton Fire, Portsmouth Fire and Rye Fire responded to the scene to assist. The Hampton Falls and Epping Fire Departments provided station coverage, while the North Hampton Police Department assisted with traffic control.

The fire remains under investigation by North Hampton Fire & Rescue.

Interim Chief MacGlashing commended the quick and coordinated response by all personnel on scene.

“I’d like to commend our firefighters for their rapid response and teamwork in preventing this fire from spreading further into the home and causing more damage,” he said. “I’d also like to thank all of our mutual aid partners for their assistance and support at the scene and in covering our station during this incident. Thankfully, no one was hurt as a result of this fire, and the fire was contained.”
