BRIDGEWATER — Chief John Schlatz reports that the Bridgewater Fire Department knocked down a house fire on East Street Friday morning.
The Bridgewater Fire Department responded to a working structure fire at 557 East St. after a 911 call came in at 8:10 a.m., Friday, April 4.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the single-family residential home.
Bridgewater Fire Department’s Tower 1 arrived on the scene first and launched an interior attack. The fire was contained to a single bedroom on the second floor.
A full complement of Bridgewater Fire Department apparatus responded to the scene, including Engine 1, Engine 3, Ambulance 1, Tower 1, Car 1 and Car 2.
Station coverage was provided by West Bridgewater Fire Department. Bridgewater Fire Command cleared the scene at 10:23 a.m.
All occupants evacuated the home safely before firefighters arrived. There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Bridgewater Fire Department.
