MEDFIELD — Superintendent Jeffrey J. Marsden and Principal Nat Vaughn are proud to announce that Thomas Blake Middle School sixth graders successfully collected 450 boxes of cereal for the Medfield Food Cupboard, demonstrating their commitment to community service and generosity.
During the first two weeks of March, students rallied together to collect cereal donations from their families and caregivers. Their efforts culminated in a fun and visually engaging cereal box domino activity on Friday, March 14. The collected boxes were carefully arranged and toppled in a domino run stretching approximately 260 feet.
The initiative not only provided much-needed food donations for local families but also fostered a spirit of teamwork and community engagement among students.
“We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication to helping others,” said Principal Vaughn. “We are also deeply grateful for the generosity of our sixth-grade families and caregivers, whose contributions made this effort such a success. It was a cereal-ously great event!”
In addition to the Cereal Run, the school has hosted an Annual Food Drive Competition throughout March to support the Medfield Food Cupboard. Every advisory in the grade has been competing to collect the most food items, with different types of food assigned to each grade.
The collected food will be distributed through the Medfield Food Cupboard to support families in need throughout the community.
“Our Thomas Blake Middle School students continue to go above and beyond to give back to the community,” Superintendent Marsden said. “This initiative is a wonderful example of how even small acts of service can have a big impact, and I commend our sixth graders, their families, and our staff for making a difference.”
