SWANSEA — Town Administrator Mallory Aronstein and Swansea Parks and Recreation Department Director John Pozzi are pleased to announce a new community program.
The Swansea Parks and Recreation Department held its first-ever Puzzle Palooza, a team puzzle-solving contest, in February, and the event is returning this Sunday, March 23.
Teams of four race to complete the same 500 or 1,000-piece puzzles depicted on the box cover.
The program costs $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. Only the team captain is required to register and is encouraged to bring three additional people for their team, all of whom are covered under the same registration fee.
The team captain must be at least 18 years old, but the event is open to anyone at least 13.
Participants can bring their completed puzzle home at the end of the event, and there is also a puzzle swap area set up for people to swap out one for another.
Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks and nonalcoholic beverages for their team to enjoy.
Sunday’s event will begin at 1 p.m. at the Council on Aging, 260 Ocean Grove Ave. Team captains are required to register in advance through the Swansea Parks and Recreation website.
“Puzzle Palooza is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, have some fun, and shake off those winter blues,” said Town Administrator Aronstein. “We’re excited to offer this wholesome, family-friendly event through our Swansea Parks and Recreation Department to bring people of all ages together and enjoy a little friendly competition.”
