
BOURNE — Bourne High School students demonstrated exceptional business knowledge, presentation skills, and professionalism at the 66th Annual Massachusetts DECA Career Development Conference & Competition, held from Feb. 27 to March 1 at the Boston Seaport.
A total of 23 students participated in this prestigious event, showcasing their talents and competing in a variety of challenging business events.
Throughout the conference, students faced intense competition in a range of events, including writing 10–20-page business plans and marketing campaigns, delivering 15-minute sales presentations, taking 100-question cluster exams, performing situational roleplays where they analyzed real-world scenarios and presented solutions, and Quiz Bowl. All of Bourne High School’s participants, from freshmen to seniors, were outstanding in their efforts, exemplifying the high standards of the DECA program.
Among the highlights of the event, Dhyan Patel earned a state finalist spot in the Retail Merchandising Series, while Joziah DeSouza earned a spot as a state finalist in the Financial Consulting Event.
Additionally, Muskan Patel and Alexandra Stowe earned the honor of advancing to the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC), which will take place April 25-30 in Orlando, Florida.
Vincent Boccalini, Luca Finton and James Crowell showcased their franchise knowledge as they proposed a Raising Caine’s franchise in Bourne, while Brady Banks pitched the Salesforce CRM platform to Stx Lacrosse, and Adrianna DeMoura pitched Aerator.com as a sustainable option for hotels’ water conservation.
Emilie Moll and Christina DiRienzo represented Bourne High School, presenting its school-based enterprise, which earned a Gold Certification and will be showcased at ICDC.

In addition to Muskan Patel and Alexandra Stowe, nine other students from the DECA chapter have qualified for leadership positions at the ICDC, having excelled in community service, leadership activities, and public relations efforts throughout the year. These students will join their peers in representing Bourne High School at the international level.
