LITTLETON — Superintendent Dr. Kelly Clenchy, Principal Michelle Kane and Assistant Principal Rebecca Deacon are excited to continue Shaker Lane’s Spirit Days into the New Year, aligning with the district’s Strategic Plan to promote a safe, supportive environment and sense of belonging.
The district will celebrate the enthusiasm of students participating in the school’s monthly celebrations through a new series, “The Spirit of Shaker Lane.”
Shaker Lane is committed to promoting a caring and respectful environment that enhances students’ self-esteem and social skills. Each month, Shaker Lane School holds an all-school community meeting where students and staff focus on H.E.A.R.T. — Honesty, Effort, Acceptance, Respect and Taking Responsibility.
Through direct teaching and modeling, along with constant visual and verbal reminders throughout the school community, Shaker Lane’s administration hopes these core values become embedded in the school’s culture. H.E.A.R.T. sets high expectations for learning and behavior for both students and faculty.
During the first spirit day of 2025, students explored “Pawsitivity.” As part of the assembly, students and staff wrote and drew ways to be positive and show kindness on the links of a paper chain.
The links were connected and hung in the cafeteria for all to enjoy and take inspiration from.
“We’re thrilled we were able to kick off the new year with this spirit day centered around how we can spread kindness and positivity in our community,” said Principal Kane. “It was a wonderful event, and we look forward to sharing our school’s spirit throughout the rest of the school year!”
