LITTLETON — Superintendent Dr. Kelly Clenchy is pleased to share that Littleton Public Schools students have once again been chosen to participate in the Playbook Initiative, emphasizing the district’s prioritization of both academic excellence and student well-being.

The Playbook Initiative, a partnership among Project 351, the Boston Celtics, and the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (MASS), is an anti-discrimination and bias-prevention program led by student trainers in school districts throughout the state.

Littleton was one out of 20 districts in the state to be selected to participate.

On Nov. 21, the district was represented at the Playbook Initiative Immersion Summit by Student Trainers and LHS juniors Haaris Khan and Kierob Cherubino. Also representing Littleton were LMS Assistant Principal Matt LeVangie and Director of Student Services Lyn Snow, who act as Playbook Administrators, and LMS Math Teacher Amy Manheimer, who acts as Playbook Educator.

The summit offered an opportunity to delve deeply into the Playbook’s guiding principles and engage with experts and educators from across the state.

Following this summit, Khan and Cherubino participated in the first “Train the Trainer” session on Dec. 1, where they gained valuable tools to help implement the Playbook’s strategies at the ground level.

These trainers will continue their professional development and growth as they attend the second “Train the Trainer” session in person at Wellesley College on Dec. 6.

These sessions equip Littleton trainers with new knowledge and practices to bring back to Littleton and give them the experience to support and train student influencers at LMS.

“This selection to participate in the Playbook Initiative speaks volumes about the commitment of our school community to challenge ourselves, and to constantly improve the experiences and outcomes for our staff and students,” said Snow. “I want to take this opportunity to commend the team for their leadership and for representing Littleton Public Schools so well at the summit. This continues to be a transformative partnership, and I am confident that this initiative will positively impact both our educators and students for years to come. Thank you to our entire community for supporting these efforts as we continue to work towards excellence in education.”
