ENFIELD — For the second consecutive year, Enfield Village School has been recognized as one of the top elementary schools in the state by U.S. News & World Report.
U.S. News ranks schools based on performance on state-required tests, graduation rates, and how well students are prepared for high school. Elementary, middle, and high schools are recognized if their overall score is in the top 40 percent.
The school focuses on early literacy, ensuring all students can develop vocabulary and reading comprehension skills to support future success. Students take part in developing these skills through a 30-minute WIN (What I Need) reading block. Staff also participates in ongoing professional learning in LETRs (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) developing their knowledge in the Science of Reading.
The school also is in year two of a new mathematics program, with the goal of improving students’ math thinking and problem-solving skills.
Enfield Village School serves about 200 students in Grades PreK-4. It was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education in 2022, and a U.S. News honoree in 2024.
“As a district, we are proud to receive this award once again. Our Enfield Village students grow because a dedicated staff and an engaged, supportive school community help us build a culture of excellence,” Superintendent Amanda Isabelle said.
