ACTON — The Town of Acton is pleased to announce a fun-filled Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 4, at the Nathaniel Allen Recreation Area (NARA Park).
Activities begin at 7 p. m. with a free concert at the Thomas E. Tidman Amphitheater featuring “Best Friends Girl – #1 Tribute to The Cars.” The band recreates the timeless hits of the Boston-based band The Cars, who sold more 23 million albums and had more than 20 songs on the Billboard Top 100.
A spectacular fireworks show by Pyrotechnico begins at 9:30 p. m. The fireworks can be viewed from all areas of the 40-plus-acre NARA site.
Complimentary shuttle buses will begin at 5 p.m. and will take guests from designated parking lots (with bus stops) located along Nagog Park Drive to and from NARA Park.
The Town recommends that spectators access NARA Park via the 10-minute lighted Town Forest Trail located at the end of Nagog Park Drive or via the lower bus drop-off area on Ledge Rock Way. All bags are subject to search upon entry.
The event will feature food vendors, including Boston Events, Tandoor & Curry Food Truck, Bird Nest Food Truck, P&P’s Thai Food Truck, and Kona Ice. Vendors accept cash and most accept credit cards or Venmo.
