Bedford Police Respond to Single Vehicle Crash

BEDFORD — Chief Daniel Douidi reports that the Bedford Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Sunday.  

On Sunday, June 16 at approximately 11:09 p.m. Bedford Police responded to the area of Route 101 and Route 114 for reports of a single vehicle crash. 

Upon arrival, officers located a white Nissan Pathfinder SUV that was off the roadway and appeared to have significant damage.  

The driver, and sole occupant, was extracted from the vehicle by the Bedford Fire Department.  

The driver was transported to an area hospital for what are believed to be serious injuries. The driver’s name is not being released at this time.

The initial cause of the crash appears to be speed-related and remains under investigation by the Bedford Police Department.  

Bedford Police Department would like to remind residents of the following safety tips from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):  

  • Adhere to the posted traffic signs, including speed limits, stop signs, traffic lights, and crosswalks.  
  • Do not text and drive.  
  • Never get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  
  • Remain alert and monitor your surroundings.  
  • Always wear your seatbelt.
