FALL RIVER — Superintendent Maria Pontes is pleased to share that Fall River Public Schools recently hosted a successful recruitment event for educators and support staff.
On Saturday, April 27, administration teams from all 17 Fall River schools, including staff members of district departments, and the Human Resources Department hosted more than 200 attendees seeking employment within the district.
During the event, each of the administration teams hosted tables and spoke to attendees interested in positions at their respective schools.
The event was a success with more than 100 applicants. FRPS held the event to highlight over 70 open teaching positions for the 2024-2025 school year in an effort to increase recruitment and encourage retention. As well as openings for paraprofessionals and other support and operations positions, for a total of 130 open positions.
Members of the Human Resources department also had a designated area with laptops to assist those in the step-by-step application process.
“We were very happy with the turnout of the recruitment event,” said Director of Human Resources Thomas Coogan. “We met several qualified applicants who are passionate about education and align with our district’s values and goals.”
