Town of Maynard to Be Recognized at May 22 Worcester Red Sox Game for ‘Town Take Over Night’

MAYNARD — The Town of Maynard Select Board is pleased to share that the Town of Maynard is being recognized at a Worcester Red Sox game for “Town Takeover Night” and would like to invite residents and community members.

WHEN:

Wednesday, May 22 at 6:05 p.m.

WHERE:

WooSox Baseball Game, Polar Park, 100 Madison St., Worcester

WHAT:

The Town of Maynard will be recognized during the WooSox game versus the Norfolk Tides, as part of Maynard’s “Town Take Over Night”.

Maynard representatives and public safety officials, including Maynard Police and Fire, will be in attendance. Pregame ceremonies will include the presentation of flags by the Maynard Fire Color Guard, the introduction of players and the bringing of the game ball to the umpire by kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley, and the first pitch of the game will be thrown by Maynard Select Board Chair Chris DiSilva.

A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley.

Throughout the season, the WooSox will host 23 Central and Western Mass. towns at Polar Park for “Town Takeover” nights. Tickets purchased for each “Town Takeover” night will benefit a non-profit that serves that community. At the end of the season, the town with the largest turnout will be rewarded with a trophy and special recognition.

“We encourage our residents and community members to come out for a night of fun at the ballpark in support of Maynard,” said Select Board Chair DiSilva. “I would like to thank the Worcester Red Sox organization for welcoming us in what is sure to be a wonderful event for all. I would also like to thank the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley for partnering with us as a portion of ticket sales will be donated to their organization. Bring your gloves and come join the fun!”

“As Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley, I’m thrilled to be involved with the Town of Maynard and the WooSox for this incredible event. It’s heartening to see organizations come together for a common cause, and we’re honored to be the beneficiaries,” said Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley Executive Director, Annalisa Campanile. “These proceeds will directly impact the lives of the youth we serve, providing them with opportunities for growth, learning, and community engagement. We extend our deepest gratitude to the WooSox and everyone involved for their support in creating great futures for the young people of our community. I hope to see you at Polar Park!”

WooSox tickets can be purchased here. Every ticket purchased will include a $2 ballpark voucher to be used toward concessions or merchandise.
