CANTON — Superintendent-Director Jill Rossetti and the District School Committee are pleased to announce the appointment of new District School Committee member Carl Walker.

Walker was officially appointed to the position on Feb. 8 and represents the Town of Avon. He attended his first School Committee meeting as a member on Feb. 27.

Walker brings a wealth of expertise across multiple domains, including public administration, procurement, construction, real estate and education.

In his prior role as a procurement officer for Brockton Public Schools, Walker effectively managed budgets, supervised procurement processes, negotiated contracts and handled grant applications. He also took on project management responsibilities and oversaw numerous construction projects within the district.

Beyond public administration, Walker has extensive experience in construction management and real estate sales and acquisition. As the owner/operator of a construction firm, he specialized in guiding 203K construction projects from inception to completion.

Walker has previously served as an education director for the South Shore/Germantown YMCA and as a mathematics and science instructor within various educational institutions.

“On behalf of the district, I would like to welcome Carl Walker to our District School Committee as our newly appointed official representing the Town of Avon,” said Superintendent-Director Rossetti. “He brings great experience to the Committee and we look forward to working with him.”

The District School Committee consists of nine representatives from each of the towns Blue Hills Regional Technical School serves: Avon, Braintree, Canton, Dedham, Holbrook, Milton, Norwood, Randolph and Westwood.
