HUDSON — Fire Chief Jamie Desautels is pleased to share that the Hudson Fire Department was awarded a $19,000 grant through the Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program, administered by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and the Department of Fire Services (DFS).
The funding has supported the purchase of safety equipment designed to enhance firefighter protection, operational readiness, and emergency response capabilities.
Hudson Fire will use the funding to replace two ventilation fans, nozzles, and hand tools.
These items are essential to maintaining firefighter safety and ensuring personnel are prepared for a variety of situations.
The grant is administered on a cost-reimbursement basis, with reimbursement requests submitted by July 24, 2026.
“This grant allows the department to further their efforts in keeping the community and our staff safe,” said Chief Desautels. “We appreciate the continued support from the Commonwealth and the Department of Fire Services.”
