Masconomet Regional School Committee Names Heather Galante as Next Superintendent of Schools

The Masconomet Regional School District School Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Heather Galante as the District’s next Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026.

27-Year Educator and Bedford High School Principal to Lead District Beginning July 1, 2026

BOXFORD — The Masconomet Regional School District School Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Heather Galante as the District’s next Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Ms. Galante succeeds Dr. Michael M. Harvey, Ed.D., who has served as Superintendent since July 1, 2019.

About Heather Galante

Ms. Galante is an equity-focused educational leader with more than 27 years of experience in public education, including nearly a decade as Principal of Bedford High School in Bedford, MA. In that role, she has provided instructional and operational leadership for a diverse, high-performing high school serving approximately 860 students and a team of over 130 faculty and staff. Her leadership has consistently emphasized curriculum coherence, data-informed decision-making, professional learning, and inclusive school culture.

Career highlights include:

• Led comprehensive curriculum and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) redesigns, utilizing data-driven planning and targeted professional development to address the full range of student learning needs

• Oversaw the successful management of a major high school renovation and building project, completed in 2021

• Cultivated strong partnerships with families and community organizations including the Parents’ Diversity Council, Parent Association, Bedford Education Foundation, and Bedford At-Risk Committee

• Responsible for a portion of the Assistant Superintendent role, leading district-wide initiatives in instructional rounds, restorative practices, and DataWise groups to enhance teaching and learning.

Prior to her tenure at Bedford, Ms. Galante served as House Dean at Chelmsford High School for nine years, managing academic and social-emotional support for approximately 550 students, and as a Social Studies teacher and counselor at schools across the Greater Boston region.

Ms. Galante holds a Master of Education in Human Development and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and History from Stonehill College and completed the Educational Initiative for Principal Preparation at Boston University School of Education. She is currently enrolled in the Seminar for Aspiring Assistant Superintendents through the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (M.A.S.S.).
