DRACUT – Superintendent Steven Stone is pleased to share that Dennis Mahoney has been named as the new Dracut High School principal.
Principal Mahoney will begin his role on July 1. A search committee comprised of Central Office administrators, both Vice Principals, DHS Department Heads, Athletic Director Thomas DiGeronimo, Richardson Middle School Principal Maria McGuinness, and parents, identified Mahoney as a finalist for the position. Superintendent Stone then selected Mahoney to be the next Dracut High School Principal.
Mahoney brings more than 20 years of experience to this position. He began his career as a science teacher in Arlington in 2001. He then taught at Concord Middle School and Littleton High School before transitioning into a leadership role as Assistant Principal of Wilmington High School. Mahoney joined Winchester Public Schools in 2016 as the Winchester High School Principal. He served as Principal for nearly 10 years.
His commitment to excellence and advancing student growth made him a standout selection as the new Dracut High School Principal.
The community will have an opportunity to officially meet Mahoney on April 14 during a meet and greet at Dracut High School Learning Commons from 6-7 p.m.
“I would officially like to welcome Mr. Mahoney to the Dracut Public Schools,” said Superintendent Stone. “His experience and commitment to students make him an excellent addition to our Dracut team.”
