Newbury Police Hiring Two Full-Time Patrol Officers

NEWBURY — Police Chief Patricia Fisher is pleased to share that the Newbury Police Department is hiring two full-time patrol officers.

The starting salary is between $53,622.40 – $71,073.60, depending on experience. The department also offers comprehensive benefits, including:

Minimum qualifications and requirements include: 

  • Must possess a valid MPTC Recruit Officer Course (ROC), full-time officer certificate
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a law enforcement setting (preferred)
  • Experience with IMC computer systems (preferred)
  • Must possess the ability to have a valid License To Carry a Firearm
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a background investigation
  • Must pass a psychological examination
  • Must pass a physical fitness examination
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification as a law enforcement officer by the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission
    • Preference may be given to trained, POST-certified School Resource Officers.
