Dracut High School Show Choir Earns Silver Rating at New England Show Choir Showdown

DRACUT –The Dracut High School Show Choir, On Deck, delivered a standout performance at the annual New England Show Choir Showdown, earning a silver rating, its highest score to date.

Hosted by Andover High School, the one-day festival, held on March 21, brought together nearly 20 performing art groups from across the region. The Showdown provides a platform for ensembles to showcase their talents through a high-level performance.

Under the direction of Music Teacher Alex Morrow, On Deck presented its program, “The Soles of Oz,” featuring music from “The Wizard of Oz,” “The Wiz,” and “Wicked.”

The performance highlighted the ensemble’s vocal talents, choreography, and storytelling abilities, earning their silver rating from a panel of world-class performers across North America.

“This achievement reflects the dedication and passion of our students,” said Morrow. “Each year they continue to raise the bar, and this performance is a testament to that.”

The members of the 2026 Dracut High School Show Choir, On Deck, are:

  • Sofia De Araujo Borges, Grade 12, plays Galinda 
  • Kianna Krush, Grade 10, plays Elphaba
  • Alyani Irizarry De Leon, Grade 10, plays Lion
  • Zoey Jasmin, Grade 11, plays Dorothy
  • Benjamin Makonzi, Grade 12, plays the Tinman
  • Julia Pesina, Grade 12, plays Scarecrow
  • Kailey Lynch, Grade 12, ensemble
  • Kaztyel Gregory, Grade 9, ensemble
  • Amira Moudakkire, Grade 12, ensemble
  • Mary Jane Nalionge, Grade 12, ensemble
  • Joseph Kervina, Grade 11, ensemble
  • Chloe Quinan, Grade 10,ensemble

As the program continues to grow, On Deck looks forward to building on this success and representing Dracut High School in future performances.

“We are incredibly proud of On Deck for achieving their highest score to date at this event,” said Superintendent Stone. “Performances like this showcase the strength of our arts programs and the creativity within our schools.”
