Power Restored at Maynard School District Following Brief Electrical Outage

MAYNARD — Superintendent Brian Haas reports that power and internet service have been restored at all Maynard Public School buildings, following an electrical outage.

The Green Meadow Elementary, Fowler Middle School and Maynard High School, all located on Tiger Drive, were temporarily without power due to an electrical outage that occurred earlier this morning.

The disruption occurred when an electrical line was accidentally pulled from the ground by construction crews working on the new school building.

All students were accounted for, and there was no danger to students or staff. School operations continued as normal.

At this time all Maynard Public School buildings, Maynard High School, the Fowler School, and Green Meadow have electricity, internet, and phones restored.

The Fowler School is still running off a generator, but services have been restored. Eversource remains on site as they work to repair the electrical line.

“I would like to thank the crews who have responded for their diligent work in restoring our schools’ power,” said Superintendent Haas. “Thank you to our staff and students who have been patient and stayed calm while we resolve this issue.”
