Joint Statement from the Southeastern Regional School District Committee and the Southeastern Teachers’ Federation

SOUTH EASTON — The following is a joint statement from the Southeastern Regional School District Committee and the Southeastern Teachers’ Federation:

The Southeastern Regional School District Committee and the Southeastern Teachers’ Federation are pleased to announce that they have reached agreement on a new collective bargaining contract covering the period from Sept. 1, 2025, through Aug. 31, 2028.

This agreement reflects the shared commitment of both parties to support high-quality teaching and learning, recognize the professionalism and dedication of our educators, and ensure the long-term stability of the district. While the negotiations were complex and, at times, challenging, they were guided by a mutual respect for the important work happening in our classrooms and shops every day.

The agreement is the result of thoughtful dialogue, problem-solving, and a focus on what matters most — our students. It provides a balanced framework that supports educators while maintaining the district’s responsibility to be fiscally sound and sustainable.

Both the School District Committee and the Southeastern Teachers’ Federation would like to thank their respective negotiating teams for their time, diligence, and professionalism throughout this process.

We look forward to continuing our partnership in service of the students, families, and communities of the Southeastern Regional School District.

Gerson Monteiro, School Committee Chair
Christine Gaze, Negotiations Subcommittee Chair
William Pellegrino, President of the Teachers’ Federation, Local 1849
