CHELMSFORD — Chelmsford Police are charging a 37-year-old Clinton man with leaving the scene of a crash that left a pedestrian with serious injuries.
STEVEN MULLEN, age 37, of CLINTON, was arrested and charged with:
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon on a Person 60 or Over
- Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash
- Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash
- Reckless Operation
- Speeding
- Failure to Grant Right of Way
- Stop Sign Violation
On Wednesday, March 25, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Chelmsford Police Department was called to a parking lot at 228 Billerica Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Officers arrived to find an adult female suffering from serious injuries. The woman was transported by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital. She was then transferred by medical helicopter to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.
The vehicle and driver that struck the woman fled the scene.
A subsequent investigation identified MULLEN as the driver involved. He was located in Lowell later Wednesday night and was taken into custody.
MULLEN will be arraigned Thursday in Lowell District Court.
The crash remains under investigation by the Chelmsford Police Department, with assistance from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
