METHUEN — The Methuen Police Department would like to share the following statement in regards to a court outcome of a criminal investigation.
In August 2025, Methuen Police worked in conjunction with a federal task force during an ongoing criminal investigation into a narcotics operation in the city. As a result of the investigation, police conducted a search of a home in Methuen that was an alleged drug distribution and manufacturing location. During the search, police seized several kilograms of counterfeit pills and numerous drug paraphernalia items. A subsequent search of a vehicle yielded an additional 10,000 illegal pills.
The investigation led to the arrest of Joshua Morales, 31 of Lawrence. Morales was arraigned in federal court today on numerous charges.
Methuen Police would like to thank law enforcement partners from Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Homeland Security Task Force, Essex County District Attorney’s Office, Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Peabody Police Department, Lawrence Police Department and Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
