ATTLEBORO — Coelho Middle School is proud to share that eighth grader Olivia Majkut was selected to serve as Attleboro’s Project 351 Ambassador.

Project 351 is a youth-led statewide service organization that invites eighth grade students from each Massachusetts town and city to participate in a yearlong program dedicated to community service and leadership development.

Olivia was chosen by her teachers for her leadership and dedication to service.

Her year of service thus far has led Olivia to collaborate with Project 351 peers from across the state to develop leadership skills and create positive change.

Ambassadors bring what they learned back to their schools, where they each design and complete an individual service project addressing a local area of need.

Olivia has used the program as an opportunity to support initiatives that assist families in need, and is currently fulfilling her service project with a schoolwide clothing drive for infants and toddlers. She has also used her platform as an ambassador to encourage classmates to recognize the positive impact they can create through acts of service.

“Project 351 has shown me that even small acts of service can make a big difference,” Olivia said. “I’m excited to help bring our school and community together to support people who need it.”

After the year ends, Olivia and her fellow ambassadors will be welcomed into Project 351’s alumni community to receive mentorship and support throughout high school and beyond.

“We are extremely proud of Olivia and the leadership she has shown through Project 351,” said Coelho Principal Andrew Boles. “Her dedication to helping others reflects the strong sense of community and service that we work to cultivate at Coelho Middle School.”
