North Hampton Fire & Rescue Extinguishes Structure Fire

NORTH HAMPTON — Chief Jacob MacGlashing reports that North Hampton Fire & Rescue responded to and extinguished a house fire Sunday evening.

On Sunday, March 15, at about 6:40 p.m., North Hampton Fire received a report of a structure fire at 3 Fern Road.

Upon arrival, crews observed a garage engulfed in flames with extension into the home.

Crews immediately began an aggressive attack on the fire, declaring a first alarm for additional assistance. The fire was brought under control at approximately 8 p.m.

All occupants of the home evacuated before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported. Two pets were still in the residence upon arrival. Crews conducted a search and removed two cats from the home. One cat suffered extensive injuries and did not survive. 

Mutual aid was provided by the Fire Departments of Hampton, Rye, Greenland, Portsmouth, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Newington, Dover, and East Kingston. The Hampton Falls, Seabrook, and Epping Fire Departments provided station coverage during the incident.

The North Hampton Police Department assisted with traffic control at the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by North Hampton Fire & Rescue.
