WHITMAN — Police Chief Timothy Hanlon and Fire Chief Timothy Clancy report that the Whitman Police and Fire Departments responded to a water incident Saturday.
On Saturday, March 14, at about 2:36 p.m., Whitman Police and Fire received a report of a person in the water at Whitman Town Park.
Whitman Police arrived on scene first and observed an adult male that appeared to be unresponsive in the water of the small pond in the park. Officers immediately pulled the victim from the water and began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Whitman Fire arrived shortly after and assumed patient care. The Fire Department transported the male to an area hospital in critical condition.
The man’s condition is unknown at this time.
The incident remains under investigation by Whitman Police and the Massachusetts State Police.
