Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments Respond to Serious Pedestrian Crash

BRIDGEWATER — Police Chief Christopher D. Delmonte and Fire Chief John Schaltz report that the Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to a single-vehicle crash in which a pedestrian was struck on Pleasant Street Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a crash that left an adult pedestrian injured in the area of 792 Pleasant St.

The pedestrian was transported from the scene of the crash by a Bridgewater Fire Department ambulance to Boston Medical Center – South in Brockton and later pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was in the roadway on Pleasant Street, near the intersection of Scotland Boulevard, at the time of the collision.

The driver of the car involved remained on the scene following the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, Bridgewater Police Detectives, and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit.

The Plymouth County Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) also assisted at the scene.
