The Pentucket Regional School District has opened pre-K registration for the 2026-27 school year.
Parents and guardians of children ages 3-5 who are not eligible for kindergarten are invited to sign up online at www.prsd.org.
The pre-K program will be located at Sweetsir School in Merrimac in the coming school year as the district is moving to a single-site model. Sweetsir stood out as the best option following a careful review of all three current locations for space, logistics, accessibility, and educational environment.
Families also will see the added benefit of stronger collaboration among teachers and consistent program environment.
The district will fill a maximum of six classes in 2026-27. Returning students are guaranteed a spot. Students will be screened in mid-March.
Registration costs $75. Rates for 2026 are:
- Five full days will cost $1,075 per month. Extended-day coverage will cost $100 per month for a.m. only or p.m. only, or $200 for both.
- Two full days will cost $560 per month. Extended-day coverage will cost $40 per month for a.m. only or p.m. only, or $80 for both.
- Three half days, $550 per month. Extended-day coverage will cost $40 per month (a.m. only).
