ACTON — The Acton Fire Department and mutual aid partners worked to extinguish a fire in a small business complex on Craig Road Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, Jan. 10, at about 3:40 p.m., the Acton Fire Department was dispatched to a business complex at 16 Craig Road for reports of a fire alarm activation.
Crews arrived on scene to find sprinkler systems activated in one of the complex’s units. The fire was contained by the sprinkler system and extinguished by Acton Fire Department.
The unit sustained smoke, water, and fire damage as a result of the fire. Smoke and water damage were also present in adjacent units. No injuries were reported.
Mutual aid was provided by the Maynard and Concord Fire Departments. The Fire Departments of Westford, Littleton, and Stow assisted in station coverage.
“I want to thank our firefighters and our mutual aid partners for their efforts and support to contain and extinguish this fire,” said Chief Anita Arnum. “Thanks to the quick action of our crews, we were able to keep this fire from spreading to other businesses.”
The cause is under investigation by the District 14 Fire Investigation Team, which includes members from the Acton Fire Department, Wayland Fire Department, Concord Fire Department, and Natick Fire Department.
