TOWNSEND — Superintendent Brad Morgan and Principal Laurie Smith announced that North Middlesex Regional High School’s International Club is making a generous donation to Heifer International, a nonprofit organization focused on ending poverty and world hunger.

The club raised and donated $750, which will be used to help those in need through Heifer International.

Founded in 1944 by social activist Dan West, Heifer International is a global nonprofit that helps communities overcome hunger and poverty by providing resources and training for sustainable living.

“The students decided that they wanted to address issues of hunger and poverty,” said club advisor Sharon Logiudice. “The idea of helping provide access to clean water for a community in need really resonated with them.”

The International Club has members of any grade level and meets monthly throughout the school year. The club is designed to enrich the school’s World Language curriculum by promoting the appreciation of cultures throughout the world through participation in a variety of interactive cultural activities.

These activities range from the celebration of cultural holidays, arts and crafts workshops, viewing of foreign films and media, and the consumption of foreign foods prepared by students and participating faculty.

The International Club consists of the following members and advisors:
