On Monday, Dec. 29, the Billerica Police Department was notified of an overnight break-in at a car dealership on Dunham Road in which several new snowplow blades and their mounts were stolen. Billerica patrolmen began an immediate investigation with assistance from the Billerica Police Criminal Investigations Division.
That investigation, which included review of video surveillance and other evidence, led police to suspect the involvement of SANSEVERO and a 31-year-old Billerica man. The investigation also led to the recovery of a stolen work truck and trailer from elsewhere in Billerica.
Police were able to obtain search warrants from Lowell District Court for SANSEVERO‘s residence on Ox Road, and for a vehicle known to be driven by the 31-year-old Billerica man.
Upon serving those warrants on Thursday, Jan. 1, and Friday, Jan. 2, Billerica Police located two stolen plow blades and their mounts, as well as five firearms, ammunition, two large-capacity magazines, bags containing fentanyl and prescription medications, as well as more than $2,000 in cash. Police estimate that more than $35,000 in stolen property was recovered.
SANSEVERO was found hiding under a bed as police served a search warrant at his residence. He was taken into custody without further incident. An investigation remains active and ongoing, and the 31-year-old may also face charges.
SANSEVERO is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court.
“I want to recognize both our patrol division and our detectives for conducting a comprehensive and effective investigation into this matter,” said Chief Roy Frost.
These are allegations. All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
