TEWKSBURY — The Tewksbury Police Department would like to announce that it is launching a new mass notification system in partnership with Regroup.
This advanced platform delivers urgent updates through phone calls, text messages, emails, and more — ensuring fast, reliable communication when it matters most. In addition to emergency alerts, this system will also be used to share important non-emergency updates, such as changes to trash pickup schedules, road closures, and other time-sensitive community information.
The CodeRed by OnSolve Emergency Notification System previously used by the Tewksbury Police Department, has been decommissioned following a cyberattack and data breach at the vendor level. OnSolve customers lost access to the platform on Nov. 10, 2025.
Agencies that relied on the platform have also had access to FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) revoked, limiting the ability to quickly send out emergency notifications. Residents who have created a CodeRed account, and used the same username and password elsewhere, are strongly recommended to update those passwords immediately.
Residents and community members who receive any alerts or messages claiming to be from CodeRed on behalf of the Tewksbury Police Department should not engage and terminate the communication.
Tewksbury Police accessed CodeRED through a web-based application. No other town infrastructure has been compromised.
Tewksbury Police Department encourages all residents to register for the new platform here.
