MAYNARD — Chief Angela Lawless reports that the Maynard Fire Department extinguished a house fire Monday afternoon.
On Monday, Dec. 15, at approximately 2:41 p.m., Maynard Fire was dispatched to 106 Parker St. for reports of a house fire, with visible flames coming from the basement.
Upon arrival, crews observed moderate smoke and flames coming from the home, and began an aggressive attack of the fire.
Due to the quick work of firefighters, Maynard Fire was able to keep this to a working fire.
The fire appears to have started in the basement and spread to the kitchen of the home.
There were no reported injuries. Two residents are displaced.
Mutual aid was provided by Acton Fire, Stow Fire, Sudbury Fire, Concord Fire, Carslie Ambulance, and PRO ALS.
Lincoln Fire and Boxborough Fire provided station coverage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Maynard Fire with assistance from District 14 Fire Investigators.
“Due to the quick efforts of our crew and our mutual aid partners, we were able to maintain control of the incident and hold this to a working fire,” said Chief Lawless. “I want to thank my team and all of our mutual aid partners for their efforts.”
