EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Michael Jenkins is pleased to announce that the East Bridgewater Police Department has acquired use of the Blue Voice app, a secure artificial intelligence-based learning and decision-support platform that provides officers and supervisors with instant access to current legal information, department policy and community-specific resources.
The East Bridgewater Police Department gained access to the technology through a $5,700 risk management grant awarded by the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA).
Blue Voice is a digital platform designed to enhance risk management and operational performance by allowing officers to quickly search laws, policies, procedures and departmental documents. This eliminates the need to manually review lengthy manuals during critical moments. The Blue Voice app is compliant with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy, which governs the handling of sensitive criminal justice information.
“This technology gives our officers fast, reliable access to the information they need when it matters most,” Chief Jenkins said. “By reducing reliance on memory alone and providing up-to-date legal and policy guidance, Blue Voice helps our officers make sound decisions while reducing the risk of mistakes and liability.”
In addition to supporting officers during high-pressure situations such as traffic stops, arrests and calls for service, the Blue Voice platform offers scenario-based training drills to strengthen situational awareness, professionalism, legal knowledge and organizational accountability. The interactive lessons reinforce police academy training while providing ongoing education on best practices in law enforcement.
“We look forward to using this technology to supplement and reinforce our officer training,” Chief Jenkins said. “It supports safer outcomes for our personnel and the public, and helps us continue to serve the East Bridgewater community in a transparent and responsible way.”
The grant was awarded through MIIA’s Risk Management Grant Program, which provides financial support to member municipalities for initiatives that enhance safety, reduce risk, and protect public assets. MIIA is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1982 by the Massachusetts Municipal Association and serves more than 400 cities, towns, and public entities across the state.
