Taunton Fire Department Extinguishes Fire at Auto Repair Shop and Car Dealership on Broadway

TAUNTON — Fire Chief Steven P. Lavigne reports that the Taunton Fire Department extinguished a fire at a Broadway auto repair shop and car dealership Wednesday afternoon.

Taunton fire crews were dispatched to the scene at 12:36 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, for a fire at an auto repair garage and dealership at 420 Broadway in Taunton.

The business was heavily damaged by flames and smoke, but firefighters brought the fire quickly under control, with no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

Engines 1, 3, 4 and 5, Ladder 3, and Car 2 responded to the scene.

The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation by the Taunton Fire Department and Taunton Police Department.
