Lakeville Police Charge Falmouth Man with Breaking Into Business

LAKEVILLE — Chief Matthew Perkins reports that the Lakeville Police Department arrested a Falmouth man following a break-in at a local business on Sunday night.

KEVIN LORD, AGE 40, of FALMOUTH, was arrested and charged with:

  • Breaking and Entering a Building During the Nighttime with Intent to Commit a Felony
  • Malicious Destruction of Property Over $1,200

On Sunday, Dec. 7, at about 11:30 p.m., Lakeville Police responded to a burglary alarm at a hardware store at 352 Bedford St.

When officers arrived, they located an unoccupied running vehicle behind the business and determined that the building had been broken into.

During a search of the nearby area, officers located about $3,000 worth of power tools on the ground behind the building, including chainsaws, battery-powered tools, leaf blowers and compressors.

A short time later, officers located a rideshare vehicle in the area and conducted an investigatory stop.

Following an on-scene investigation, LORD, a passenger in the rideshare vehicle, was identified as the suspect in the break-in. He was taken into custody without incident.

Lakeville Police were assisted at the scene by a Middleborough Police K-9 unit and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

LORD was arraigned Monday in Wareham District Court.
