Gloucester, Rockport, Essex and Manchester-by-the-Sea Public Safety Mourn the Passing of State Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante

The following is a joint statement from Gloucester Police Chief Edward Conley and Fire Chief Eric Smith, Rockport Police Chief John Horvath and Fire Chief Mark Wonson, Essex Police Chief Thomas Shamshak and Fire Chief Christian Hassel, and Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Chief Todd Fitzgerald and Fire Chief James McNeilly:

“The Cape Ann community is extremely saddened by the passing of State Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Ann-Margaret was a fierce and devoted champion for the people of Cape Ann, and had an empathetic approach to public service that earned the respect of people in every corner of the community. Her continued partnership, collaboration, and advocacy has allowed us as public safety agencies to put our best foot forward to serve our communities. She will be deeply missed.

We extend our condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. Our hearts are with the community as we come together to mourn the loss of a true force within Gloucester and Cape Ann.”
