SOUTH EASTON — Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School will welcome local employers to campus this December to talk with students about real-world work, training and future opportunities in their communities.
Southeastern will host its Hawks Pathways to Possibilities Career Fair on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The event provides employers with an opportunity to meet students from Southeastern’s vocational programs and gives them a chance to showcase their businesses. There is no hiring commitment required.
“Every student at Southeastern is preparing for the workforce,” said Director of Guidance Lois Miller. “This Career Fair lets employers see that learning in action and meet students who are motivated and ready to contribute.”
Employers interested in participating in the Career Fair should contact Lois Miller by email at lmiller@sersd.org.
In addition to the Career Fair, Southeastern is actively seeking new employer partners for its Cooperative Education Program. The Co-Op Program pairs students with employers for paid, alternating-week work placements during the school year. The program helps businesses develop a skilled, loyal talent pipeline while providing students with meaningful career experience.
To participate, employers must offer at least 30 hours of work per week, pay minimum wage or higher and submit weekly assessments of the student’s performance. A Southeastern vocational teacher must approve the job site, and employers are required to pass CORI or SORI background checks and comply with all child labor laws.
Those interested in exploring a partnership opportunity with the Co-Op Program may contact Jennifer Hall at hireahawk@sersd.org or call 508-230-1224.
