Assabet Valley JROTC to Present National Flag at Inaugural Veterans Dinner in Natick

MARLBOROUGH — In honor of Veterans Day, Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) Color Guard will be presenting the National Flag at the first annual Chef for Veterans Dinner event,  organized by the Epicurean Club of Boston (ECB). 

The event will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, at AMVETS Post 79 (79 Superior Dr, Natick) starting at 5 p.m. The Assabet JROTC will be led by Senior Marine Instructor Travis S. Bowser, will be presenting the National Flag at 6 p.m., to honor the veterans of Natick and the surrounding cities and towns

The venue will host 105 active and retired service members, along with their families and friends, for a dinner buffet with food donated from ECB and other vendors. 

“Our courageous students and cadets have long been training for such a prestigious moment in their young careers,” said Assabet Valley Superintendent Ernest Houle. “We are immensely proud of them and the honor they will bestow upon such resilient and brave veterans who fought to keep our country safe.” 

The menu, as crafted and curated by the Club itself, consists of dishes such as cranberry-stuffed chicken breasts, short rib with a port wine demi glaze, and roasted garlic mashed potatoes, along with horderves and appetizers such as shrimp cocktail and roasted caprese salad.

“We at the ECB are honored to be able to cater to our country’s proudest warriors and their loved ones,” said ECB Board Member and Assabet Chef Louis Trudeau.  “We know this inaugural dinner will be the start of a time-honored tradition for all veterans of the MetroWest area of the Commonwealth for years to come.”
