During the course of the investigation, Norwood Police Detectives developed information that led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Norwest Woods, where additional evidence was recovered linking the suspects to the crime. The evidence recovered from the search warrant, along with other evidence discovered during the investigation, ultimately led to arrest warrants being issued. Two of the juveniles are currently in custody, and detectives are actively working to locate the third.
Detectives determined that the juveniles acted together to carry out this crime. The investigation also revealed that this was not a random act and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Their cases will be heard in Dedham Juvenile Court.
“The Norwood Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety of the community and will continue to pursue those involved in acts of violence in our Town,” said Chief Padden. “Norwood Police Detectives conducted a diligent and professional investigation in this case, and these three arrests are the direct result.”
Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Sinclair at 781-856-6140.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. As this is an active investigation involving juveniles, in accordance with Massachusetts state laws, the Norwood Police Department will have no further comment at this time.
