WOBURN —  Goodyear Elementary School kicked off the 2025-26 academic year with an exciting celebration of character and community spirit.

In a school-wide assembly meeting planned by Goodyear’s assembly team, students were recognized for exemplifying the key character trait of respect, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.

During the assembly, the faculty surprised students with a lively dance to the song “Respect” by Aretha Franklin, igniting excitement throughout the gym. Students showed their school spirit by dressing in Goodyear’s colors, black and orange.

Woburn Memorial High School football coach Jack Belcher made a guest appearance, accompanied by a group of Goodyear alumni (and current high school seniors), who returned to help launch the next schoolwide character trait of responsibility.

The alumni shared examples of how they exemplify responsibility every day, by showing up on time, completing assignments, committing to their teams, and being dependable peers and professionals.

The school gymnasium was filled with pride as teachers reconnected with their former students and witnessed the young leaders they’ve become.

“Goodyear Elementary is immensely proud of its alumni base and forever grateful to the dedicated staff who continue to shape and support the journeys of each and every student,” said Goodyear Principal Meghan Patrissi. “The assembly was a proud moment for the entire Goodyear community, and we would especially like to wish our seniors best of luck as they end their high school careers.”
